Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Des Moines, Iowa

• Contract Duration: 26 weeks, ending May 2, 2027
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Work Arrangement: On-site

ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing and eligibility to practice in Iowa
• At least 1 year of recent professional nursing experience, including ICU or critical care experience
• Demonstrated ability to care for critically ill patients in an intensive care setting
• Strong patient assessment, clinical judgment, prioritization, and communication skills
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including every other weekend and holiday rotations
• Successful completion of required competency verification and standard pre-employment screening

ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
• Perform ongoing patient assessments, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Manage complex patient care needs while maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Support patients and families through clear communication, education, and compassionate care
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and adherence to evidence-based critical care practices
