Travel Nursing Job Details

• Specialty: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)
• Location: Wichita, Kansas 67214
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010
• Start Date: November 3, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks, through February 2, 2027
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Schedule: 36 hours per week, typically three 12-hour shifts
• Unit Overview: 20-bed Labor & Delivery and postpartum setting with experienced clinical support staff
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 3–4:1 for postpartum couplets and 1–2:1 for labor patients
• Documentation Systems: Meditech and CPN

Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Kansas
• At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications
• AWHONN certification or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (IFM) certification
• Strong patient-care skills and the ability to remain effective in a busy maternal-child health environment
• Postpartum nursing experience preferred
• High-risk Labor & Delivery experience preferred

Travel Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients, postpartum patients, and newborns in accordance with established clinical standards
• Monitor maternal and fetal status, recognize changes in condition, and communicate promptly with the care team
• Support inductions, cesarean sections, and high-risk labor and delivery cases
• Perform or assist with AROM, IUPC placement and monitoring, DFM, Doppler assessments, and electronic fetal monitoring
• Circulate cesarean section procedures and maintain a safe, organized surgical environment
• Educate patients and families throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the postpartum period
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses using Meditech and CPN
• Collaborate with nurses, providers, technicians, and support staff to promote safe, compassionate maternal-child healthcare
