Experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse wanted for a 13-week travel nursing contract in Houston, Texas. Bring your expertise to a collaborative, on-site hospital-based L&D team supporting laboring patients, high-risk obstetrics, cesarean deliveries, postpartum patients, and antepartum care. Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,730–$1,820
- Nursing Specialty: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse
- Healthcare Setting: On-site hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit
- Location: Houston, Texas
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks, through January 18, 2027
- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts
- Shift Schedule: 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: Four weekend shifts in a four-week schedule
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:1–2
- Electronic Medical Record: Meditech/CPN
- Unit Resources: Labor, delivery, operating room, PACU, OB emergency, and antepartum care areas
Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery registered nursing experience
- Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Texas
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
- Strong knowledge of fetal monitoring and labor management
- C-EFM certification preferred
- Spanish bilingual skills preferred
- Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and the required 36-hour weekly schedule
- Outgoing, collaborative communication style with the ability to work effectively alongside nurses, providers, and support staff
Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and antepartum care
- Monitor maternal and fetal status and recognize changes requiring timely intervention
- Manage laboring patients while supporting safe, evidence-based birth practices
- Assist with and circulate cesarean section procedures
- Provide patient care in Labor & Delivery, postpartum, PACU, OB emergency, and antepartum areas as assigned
- Collaborate with obstetric providers, anesthesia professionals, nurses, and ancillary team members
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in Meditech/CPN
- Promote a safe, respectful, and patient-centered experience for mothers and newborns
