Emergency Department Registered Nurse Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Texas
- At least 1 year of professional registered nursing experience
- Emergency department or emergency room nursing experience required; freestanding emergency department experience preferred
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills
- Comfort working independently in a focused emergency care environment
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, rotating weekends, and the full travel nursing contract
- Commitment to inclusive, respectful, and team-oriented patient care
Emergency Department RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, timely, and compassionate nursing care to emergency department patients
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and promptly identify changes in patient condition
- Initiate and maintain IV access and administer treatments as ordered
- Perform and interpret 12-lead EKGs according to emergency department protocols
- Use point-of-care laboratory equipment and accurately document clinical findings in Meditech
- Collaborate with providers and nursing teammates to support efficient emergency patient flow
- Prioritize care for patients with varying levels of acuity in a fast-paced emergency setting
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation while following emergency department policies and safety standards
- Contribute to a helpful, inclusive, and team-focused workplace culture
