Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Iowa
• At least 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical RN experience in an acute care setting
• Strong patient assessment, clinical prioritization, communication, and time-management skills
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate nursing care during 12-hour night shifts
• Ability to collaborate effectively with patients, families, nurses, providers, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Successful completion of required professional, health, and competency screening before the assignment start date

Medical-Surgical Travel RN Responsibilities

• Assess adult patients, identify changes in condition, and promptly communicate significant findings
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders and nursing standards
• Monitor vital signs, clinical status, laboratory results, and patient responses to interventions
• Provide patient education and emotional support to patients and their families
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in the electronic medical record
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, quality care, and adherence to Medical-Surgical nursing standards
