Emergency Department RN Job Details

• Location: Suffolk, Virginia 23434
• Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
• Hours: Up to 36 hours per week when scheduled
• Employment Type: Per diem Registered Nurse position
• Per Diem Requirement: Work at least 1 shift per month to remain active in the per diem pool
• Start Date: September 18, 2026
• Assignment Length: Approximately 52 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
• Orientation: Monday through Friday availability is required
• Openings: 2

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
• At least 2 years of professional nursing experience
• At least 1 recent year of emergency department nursing experience
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced emergency care environment
• Availability to complete weekday orientation

Emergency Department Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and timely nursing care to emergency department patients
• Perform patient assessments, monitor clinical status, and identify changes requiring immediate attention
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support effective patient outcomes
• Document assessments, nursing interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly
• Prioritize care effectively while managing multiple patients in a dynamic emergency department setting
• Support patient and family education throughout the emergency care experience
