Emergency Department RN Job Details

• Location: Suffolk, Virginia
• Setting: Emergency Department (ED)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
• Start Date: September 18, 2026
• Assignment End Date: September 18, 2027
• Shift: Evening shift, 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.
• Shift Duration: 8 hours
• Schedule: Per diem; a minimum of one shift per month is required
• Orientation: Must be available Monday through Friday

Emergency Room Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Virginia
• At least 2 years of professional RN experience
• At least 1 recent year of Emergency Department or emergency room nursing experience
• Strong knowledge of emergency nursing principles, patient assessment, and clinical prioritization
• Ability to work the scheduled evening shift and meet the minimum per diem commitment
• Availability to attend weekday orientation

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and timely nursing care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department
• Perform focused nursing assessments, identify changes in patient condition, and prioritize care according to acuity
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring patient response
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient evaluation and treatment
• Support triage, emergency interventions, patient education, and discharge planning as assigned
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in the medical record
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and compliance with departmental standards
