Join a dedicated emergency care team as a Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) in West Des Moines, Iowa. Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,040–$2,150
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• End Date: January 17, 2027
• Department: Emergency Room
• Shift: 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
• Work Setting: On-site

Emergency Room RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Iowa
• At least 1 year of recent emergency department or emergency room nursing experience
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to provide safe, effective patient care in a fast-paced emergency department
• Completion of required credentialing, competency, background, and health-screening requirements
• Flexibility to work night shifts, every other weekend, and holidays as scheduled

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Perform focused and comprehensive nursing assessments of patients presenting with urgent and emergent conditions
• Prioritize emergency care based on patient acuity and changing clinical needs
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with orders and established standards
• Monitor patient responses and promptly identify and communicate changes in condition
• Assist with emergency procedures and coordinate care with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Provide patient and family education, emotional support, and discharge guidance
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and complete thorough nursing handoffs
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and high-quality emergency nursing care
