Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 10, 2026
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, approximately 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Schedule: Rotating weekends and as needed
- Call Requirement: None
- Department: Emergency Department
- Emergency Department Size: 31 beds plus 2 triage rooms
- Patient Population: Patients of all ages
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4, with variations based on patient acuity and department volume
- Documentation Systems: MedHost and Meditech
Emergency Department RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Virginia
- At least 5 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
- Current ACLS, BLS, NIH, and PALS or ENPC certifications required
- Handle with Care certification required; on-site availability may be provided
- Strong emergency assessment, triage, and prioritization skills
- Ability to provide compassionate, professional patient care in a high-volume setting
- Flexibility to float within the Emergency Department as needed
- Travel assignment eligibility requirements must be met, including residence at least 60 miles from the assignment location
Emergency Nursing Responsibilities
- Assess, triage, and provide timely nursing care to emergency patients across the lifespan
- Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to support efficient patient flow
- Care for medical, surgical, behavioral health, pediatric, and geriatric patients as assigned
- Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care plans in the electronic health record
- Support emergency and rapid-response activities within the scope of practice
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and patient-centered environment
- Float within the department and assist teammates during periods of high volume or acuity
