- Unit: 37-bed Bone Marrow Transplant ICU with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2
- Charting System: Meditech
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- At least 1 year of current Bone Marrow Transplant ICU or high-acuity oncology ICU experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIH Stroke Certificate
- Strong patient assessment, critical-thinking, and interdisciplinary teamwork skills
- Chemotherapy certification preferred
- BMTCN and/or OCN certification preferred
- Positive attitude and commitment to compassionate, evidence-based patient care
Travel RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill bone marrow transplant and oncology patients
- Monitor and manage high-risk infusions according to established protocols
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition in a high-acuity ICU setting
- Implement neutropenic fever protocols, including blood culture collection and administration of IV medications
- Collaborate with providers, nurses, patient care technicians, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Meditech and promote safe, evidence-based nursing care
- Support a culture of positivity, teamwork, and excellence for patients undergoing complex cancer and transplant treatment
