Travel Nurse Job Details

- Schedule: 4 shifts per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
- Contract: 13 weeks, with 13- or 26-week options available
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, and infants
- Unit Environment: Labor rooms, triage rooms, high-risk deliveries, antepartum care, cesarean-section support, gynecologic surgery, couplet care, and transition nursery services
Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Washington; compact license must be in hand when applicable
- At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
- Current BLS, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and AWHONN Intermediate certifications
- ACLS certification preferred
- Recent Epic charting experience required
- Demonstrated competency with high-risk obstetric care, fetal monitoring, triage, cesarean-section support, and medication infusions
- Ability to float to postpartum assignments based on skill set and support nearby units when needed
Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients experiencing labor, preterm labor, delivery, and the antepartum and postpartum continuum
- Perform obstetric triage, assessments, sterile vaginal examinations, fetal monitoring, and ongoing patient education
- Attend routine and high-risk deliveries and assist with cesarean-section procedures, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care
- Care for patients receiving epidural anesthesia, PCA therapy, magnesium sulfate, insulin, heparin, and other high-acuity therapies
- Administer blood and blood products safely and monitor patients for therapeutic response or complications
- Manage specialized equipment and therapies, including IUPCs, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, syringe pumps, drains, wound vacs, and cooling or warming blankets
- Support gynecologic surgeries, couplet care, low-risk antepartum care, and transition nursery activities
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and collaborate with physicians, midwives, ancillary teams, and families to promote safe outcomes
- Follow infection prevention, isolation, emergency response, and patient safety standards in a fast-paced obstetric environment
