This on-site travel assignment offers the opportunity to care for obstetric patients and newborns in a supportive environment while expanding your clinical experience across labor, delivery, antepartum, triage, and perioperative services.

Travel Nursing Job Details

  • Location: Issaquah, Washington
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,110–$2,220
  • Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse contract
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks, with potential for a 13- or 26-week contract
  • Start Date: October 19, 2026
  • End Date: January 18, 2027
  • Schedule: Approximately 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
  • Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
  • Unit: Labor & Delivery with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
  • Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, and infants
  • Float Expectations: May float to postpartum or other nearby affiliated units based on skill set and operational needs
  • Holiday Coverage: Holiday scheduling and coverage may be required; time-off requests should be submitted before assignment confirmation

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Washington; compact license must be active and in hand when applicable
  • At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
  • Epic electronic health record experience required
  • BLS, Fetal Heart Monitoring, Neonatal Resuscitation Program, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications required
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Strong experience with obstetric triage, labor management, high-risk deliveries, and antepartum nursing care
  • Ability to support a 1:1–3 patient ratio and adapt to changing clinical priorities
  • First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
  • Strong communication, teamwork, clinical judgment, and patient-education skills

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients experiencing labor, preterm labor, and high-risk pregnancies
  • Attend routine and high-risk deliveries and provide care throughout the intrapartum and immediate postpartum periods
  • Perform obstetric triage, sterile vaginal examinations, fetal monitoring, and assessment of maternal-fetal status
  • Circulate for Cesarean sections and support preoperative, postoperative, OB-GYN, and gynecologic surgical care
  • Provide care for low-risk labor, low-risk antepartum patients, and transition nursery or couplet-care patients
  • Administer blood and blood products, heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate according to clinical protocols
  • Manage epidural, PCA, and syringe pumps, as well as wound vacs, drains, and related equipment
  • Maintain central lines and support patients requiring specialized monitoring and interventions
  • Respond appropriately to cardioversion or defibrillation needs and assist with cooling or warming therapies when indicated
  • Document patient care accurately in Epic and collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary team
  • Educate patients and families while promoting safe, compassionate, evidence-based maternity care
