  • Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, and infants
  • Travel Experience: First-time travel nurses are welcome
  • Floating: May float to Postpartum or another nearby sister facility based on skills and unit needs

Travel RN Job Requirements

  • At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license must be in hand when applicable
  • Current BLS, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and AWHONN Intermediate certifications
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Current Epic electronic health record charting experience required
  • Demonstrated experience with labor and delivery, obstetrical triage, high-risk antepartum care, and C-section recovery
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work night shifts and float according to assignment requirements

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients experiencing labor, preterm labor, and other obstetrical needs
  • Perform obstetrical triage, assessments, fetal monitoring, patient education, and support
  • Assist with routine and high-risk deliveries, including fetal heart monitoring and emergency interventions
  • Circulate for C-sections and support pre-operative and post-operative care
  • Care for patients in low-risk Labor & Delivery and antepartum settings
  • Administer blood and blood products, heparin, insulin, magnesium sulfate, and other therapies according to orders and policy
  • Manage epidural, PCA, and syringe pumps; maintain central lines; and provide wound and drain care
  • Support cardioversion/defibrillation, cooling and warming measures, and other specialty procedures as needed
  • Participate in GYN surgical care, couplet care, transition nursery support, and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Document patient care accurately in Epic while maintaining safety, compassion, and professional standards
