Join a collaborative Labor & Delivery nursing team in Issaquah, Washington, and provide compassionate maternal-newborn care during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery. This 13-week travel nurse assignment offers consistent night shifts, routine and high-risk delivery experience, and the opportunity to work in a scenic Pacific Northwest community near Lake Sammamish and the Cascade foothills.
Travel Nursing Job Details
- Specialty: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)
- Location: Issaquah, Washington
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,110–$2,220
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Unit Environment: 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms serving adolescents, infants, and adults
- Travel Experience: First-time travel nurses are welcome
- Floating: May float to postpartum based on skill set and operational needs
Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Washington; an active compact license may be accepted
- Current BLS, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and AWHONN Intermediate certifications
- ACLS certification preferred
- Recent Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting experience required
- Demonstrated experience with labor and delivery, obstetric triage, high-risk antepartum care, and C-section recovery
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and required holidays as assigned
- Strong communication, clinical judgment, teamwork, patient education, and maternal-fetal assessment skills
Labor & Delivery Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients experiencing labor, preterm labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period
- Perform obstetric triage, fetal monitoring, sterile vaginal examinations, and ongoing maternal-fetal assessments
- Attend routine and high-risk deliveries and assist with C-sections, GYN procedures, preoperative care, postoperative recovery, and circulating responsibilities
- Care for low-risk antepartum and labor patients, support couplet care, and assist with transition nursery activities
- Administer and monitor blood products, magnesium sulfate, insulin, heparin, epidural infusions, PCA therapy, and other ordered medications
- Manage specialized equipment and therapies, including IUPCs, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, syringe pumps, drains, wound vacs, and warming or cooling blankets
- Respond appropriately to urgent clinical situations, including cardioversion and defibrillation when indicated
- Maintain central lines, follow isolation and PPE protocols, and provide thorough wound assessment and care
- Collaborate with obstetric providers, neonatal staff, anesthesia, and the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe maternal and newborn outcomes
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in Epic
