Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,770–$1,870
- Location: Asheville, North Carolina
- Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
- Start Date: November 23, 2026
- End Date: February 22, 2027
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Unit Environment: 20-bed observation and telemetry unit with approximately 1:5 daytime patient ratios
- Documentation System: Cerner/PowerChart
PACU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with authorization to practice in North Carolina
- At least 1 year of recent RN experience in PACU, observation, telemetry, or a related acute-care setting
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Telemetry certification
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and clinical judgment skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment and adapt to changing patient needs
- Med-surg nursing experience preferred
- Familiarity with Cerner/PowerChart preferred
PACU RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and efficient nursing care for patients in an observation and telemetry setting
- Perform ongoing patient assessments and monitor patients using telemetry equipment
- Recognize and communicate changes in patient condition to appropriate care team members
- Initiate and maintain IV access and perform Foley catheter insertion as clinically indicated
- Administer nursing care according to established policies, procedures, and individualized treatment plans
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with nurses, patient care technicians, unit coordinators, providers, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Support coverage in other med-surg areas as needed
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment through professionalism, communication, and dependable attendance
