Travel Nursing Job Details

• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour shifts; 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, with schedule-specific Friday requirements
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling and blocked scheduling may be available based on unit needs
• Uniform: Navy blue scrubs; jackets should also be navy blue

• Orientation: Unit-specific orientation with a preceptor

Travel Telemetry RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Pennsylvania
• At least 1 year of recent acute-care nursing experience; telemetry or medical-surgical nursing experience strongly preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Telemetry experience, including the ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms
• Demonstrated ability to manage diverse patient assignments and adapt quickly while floating between hospital units
• Comfort caring for patients requiring BiPAP, CPAP, or high-flow oxygen with respiratory therapy support
• Ability to titrate commonly used cardiac and anticoagulation infusions, including Cardizem, nitroglycerin, dopamine, dobutamine, and heparin
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, prioritization, teamwork, and collaboration skills

Telemetry Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care across medical-surgical, telemetry, step-down, rehabilitation, and ED holding areas
• Care for patients with dysrhythmias, CVAs, pneumonia, post-surgical needs, orthopedic conditions, dialysis needs, palliative or hospice needs, and patients transferred from intensive care
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, identify changes in patient condition, and promptly communicate clinical concerns
• Administer medications and titrate approved infusions according to provider orders and unit protocols
• Manage patients requiring noninvasive respiratory support, including BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen, in collaboration with respiratory therapy
• Float among assigned units according to hospital needs while maintaining continuity, safety, and quality of patient care
• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments, medication administration, clinical documentation, patient education, and care coordination
• Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, nursing assistants, and interdisciplinary team members
• Support patients and families through acute illness, recovery, rehabilitation, and end-of-life care when appropriate
• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and professional nursing standards in all practice settings
