PCU Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuro Tele | 13-Week Night Travel Nursing Contract in Lubbock, Texas

PCU Travel Nurse Job Details

  • Location: Lubbock, Texas
  • Unit: Neuro Tele/Progressive Care Unit
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,740–$1,840
  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
  • Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
  • Assignment: 13-week travel nursing contract
  • Start Date: October 19, 2026
  • Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:4 on days and nights; up to 1:5 on weekends
  • Weekend Requirement: Six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
  • Call: Not required
  • Floating: May float between units or nearby affiliated locations based on operational needs
  • Charting: Epic electronic health record

PCU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license must be in hand at submission when applicable
  • At least 1 year of recent RN experience in PCU, progressive care, stepdown, telemetry, or a comparable acute-care setting
  • Previous experience caring for patients with neurological, cardiac, trauma, or neurosurgical conditions
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Demonstrated telemetry nursing experience, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience with central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, isolation precautions, oxygen therapy, and non-invasive airway management
  • Ability to manage or titrate applicable cardiac, insulin, heparin, and vasoactive drips according to unit protocols
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills

Neuro Tele RN Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to PCU and Neuro Tele patients in a fast-paced acute-care environment.
  • Monitor patients with TIA, stroke, epilepsy, subdural hematoma, trauma, and neurosurgical conditions.
  • Perform ongoing assessments, recognize changes in condition, and initiate appropriate interventions.
  • Interpret telemetry rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias using established protocols.
  • Administer medications and manage cardiac, insulin, heparin, and vasoactive drips as assigned.
  • Provide central line and peripheral IV care, blood product administration, oxygen therapy, and non-invasive airway support.
  • Collaborate with physicians, rapid response teams, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rehabilitation services, radiology, social services, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Educate and support patients and families while promoting safe, coordinated, and evidence-based care.
  • Float between designated units when needed and contribute to a flexible, team-oriented practice environment.
