Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,890–$2,000
- Location: Baltimore, Maryland
- Healthcare Setting: High-acuity adult medical-surgical intermediate care, cardiac stepdown, and IMC unit
- Contract: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- End Date: January 25, 2027
- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts
- Shifts per Week: 3
- Shift Schedule: 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:3
- Weekend Commitment: Approximately 3–4 weekend shifts per four-week scheduling block
- Holiday Schedule: Holidays are required when they fall within the assigned schedule
- Charting System: Epic
- Floating: Required within scope of practice

Cardiac Stepdown Travel RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Maryland or a valid Compact RN license
- At least 3 years of professional nursing experience, including experience in an IMC, PCU, DOU, stepdown, or cardiac care setting
- Recent experience caring for a patient assignment of approximately 2–3 patients
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Current CPI certification
- ACLS certification preferred
- Epic electronic health record charting experience required
- Demonstrated ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage telemetry patients
- Comfort caring for high-acuity adult patients requiring respiratory, cardiac, renal, oncology, and post-surgical support
- Ability to float within the established nursing scope of practice and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
- Flu vaccination is required
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to complex adult patients in a high-acuity cardiac stepdown and intermediate care setting
- Monitor telemetry, identify dysrhythmias, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Care for patients with respiratory failure, COPD, asthma exacerbations, high-flow oxygen needs, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomies, and ventilators with a secure airway
- Manage patients with cardiac conditions, atrial fibrillation, DVT/PE, renal failure, post-cardiac procedures, and post-transplant needs
- Administer and monitor cardiac medications, insulin protocols, blood products, chemotherapy, IVIG, and other complex therapies according to unit protocols
- Provide pre- and post-procedure care for cardiac catheterization, cardiac surgery, hemodialysis, and other advanced interventions
- Assist with central line insertion, chest tube care, paracentesis, thoracentesis, tracheostomy exchanges, and bronchoscopies requiring secure airway management
- Support bedside hemodialysis and plasmapheresis patients while coordinating care with specialty teams
- Perform comprehensive assessments, medication administration, wound and drain care, IV therapy, feeding tube care, and ongoing patient education
- Recognize clinical deterioration and collaborate with rapid response, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, providers, and other support services to promote safe patient outcomes
