Travel Nursing Job Details

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050–$2,160
- Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. (36 hours per week)
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
- Holiday Coverage: Commitment to work three of five designated holidays may be required
- Patient Population: Adults
- Typical Ratio: Approximately 1:4 on nights
- Unit Profile: Approximately 42 beds with an average daily census of 35
- Charting: Epic
- Floating: May float between units or nearby sister facilities to meet patient-care needs
PCU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse (RN) experience, preferably in PCU, progressive care, stepdown, DOU, IMC, or telemetry
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Washington; compact license must be active and in hand when applicable
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Recent experience caring for progressive-care patients with a typical assignment ratio of 3–4 patients
- Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting experience required
- Demonstrated proficiency with telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, cardiac drips, insulin protocols, IV therapy, central and PICC line care, and non-invasive airway management
- Ability to work night shifts, every other weekend, and required holiday coverage
- Willingness to float as needed to support patient-care operations
- Two professional references covering at least one year of experience within the past three years
Travel PCU RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult PCU patients experiencing conditions such as congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, acute respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, chest pain, diabetic ketoacidosis, and substance withdrawal
- Monitor and interpret telemetry, recognize changes in patient condition, and initiate timely interventions
- Administer and monitor cardiac and insulin infusions according to established protocols
- Manage oxygen therapy, high-flow nasal cannula, non-invasive airway support, chest tubes, feeding tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, PCA therapy, and blood products as appropriate
- Perform central line, PICC, peripheral IV, and other vascular-access care while maintaining infection-prevention standards
- Complete focused and comprehensive assessments, medication administration, care planning, documentation, and patient education
- Collaborate with IV teams, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, radiology, phlebotomy, social services, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
- Float to other units when needed while maintaining safe, patient-centered care
