Join a collaborative Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit team as a Travel Registered Nurse in Tyler, Texas. This on-site travel nursing opportunity supports adult and geriatric patients in a 16-bed ICU with a typical 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio. Provide critical care nursing for complex patients while working alongside strong interdisciplinary support services and using Epic for clinical documentation.
Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,620–$1,700
- Location: Tyler, Texas
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
- Start Date: October 20, 2026
- End Date: January 19, 2027
- Shift: Day shifts, 12-hour duration, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
- Schedule Options: 36- or 48-hour weekly options
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Charting System: Epic
- Weekend Coverage: Weekend shifts are included in the assignment schedule
ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or a valid compact-state license in hand at the time of submission
- At least 1 year of professional nursing experience required; 2 years of ICU or critical care nursing experience preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIHSS and PALS certifications preferred or required based on patient-care needs
- Recent experience with Epic clinical documentation
- Strong critical-thinking, patient assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to complete required onboarding items and clinical modules within established timelines
Travel ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients
- Assess patients, identify changes in condition, and promptly escalate clinical concerns
- Manage ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and chest tubes
- Titrate cardiac and vasoactive infusions and manage continuous IV sedation and IV insulin protocols
- Care for patients requiring CRRT, dysrhythmia management, stroke care, multisystem organ support, and post-operative monitoring
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and arterial blood gases while supporting timely clinical interventions
- Administer medications, blood products, and procedural sedation according to clinical standards
- Collaborate with providers, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, physical therapy, phlebotomy, and rapid response teams
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in Epic
- Float as assigned based on unit and schedule needs while maintaining high standards of patient care
