Join a collaborative surgical services team as an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) on a 13-week travel nursing assignment in Huntington, West Virginia. This opportunity offers $1,910–$2,010 in estimated weekly pay and the chance to support a broad range of procedures in a trauma-capable hospital, including cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, cataracts, ENT, and other specialties. Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010
- Location: Huntington, West Virginia
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
- Start Date: October 12, 2026
- End Date: January 11, 2027
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts, with a combination of 12-hour and 8-hour shifts as scheduled
- Schedule Examples: 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., 9:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m., 11:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m., 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.
- Call: Not required
- Weekends: Weekend availability may be required
- Orientation: 16 hours
- Openings: 3
Operating Room RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia or a valid compact RN license at the time of submission; temporary and pending licenses are not accepted
- At least 1 year of recent Operating Room nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Operating Room circulating experience required
- Surgical scrubbing experience preferred
- Ability to support a wide variety of surgical services, including trauma, cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, cataracts, and ENT
- Flexibility to work varied day-shift start times and weekend shifts
- Previous travel nursing experience is welcome
Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate perioperative nursing care throughout the surgical experience
- Circulate effectively during a variety of surgical procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and the broader perioperative team
- Prepare operating rooms, equipment, supplies, and documentation according to procedure requirements
- Support trauma and complex surgical cases across multiple specialties
- Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique, patient safety standards, and infection-prevention practices
- Monitor patient status, anticipate procedural needs, and communicate changes promptly
- Complete required orientation, facility modules, and compliance activities within established timelines
