Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse needed for a 13-week Level I Trauma nursing contract in Peoria, Illinois. Join a fast-paced, on-site emergency department and provide high-acuity care to patients across the lifespan, from newborns to older adults. This Illinois travel nursing opportunity includes exposure to strokes, cardiac events, critical illness, and trauma. Travel Nursing Job Details

- Department Size: 65 private beds, including two trauma bays
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130-$2,250
- Schedule: 12 Hour Nights; 12-hour shifts from 1:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks, through January 25, 2027
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, generally Friday and Saturday for the 1:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m. shift
- Call: No call requirement
- Electronic Medical Record: EPIC
Emergency Department RN Qualifications
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse license, or confirmation that the Illinois license application has been initiated
- At least 1 year of recent emergency nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
- Previous travel assignment experience preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- ENPC or PALS certification
- TNCC or TNS certification
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, triage, and emergency response skills
- Ability to care for patients with varying acuity levels and respond effectively to rapidly changing conditions
- Ability to meet required clinical, occupational health, and compliance standards
Emergency Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients ranging from newborns to geriatric adults
- Assess, triage, monitor, and stabilize patients with a wide variety of medical, surgical, cardiac, neurologic, and traumatic conditions
- Care for critically ill patients, including those experiencing cardiac arrest, stroke, myocardial infarction, and other life-threatening emergencies
- Support the care of Level I and Level II trauma patients after stabilization and transfer from the trauma bay
- Administer and titrate vasopressor, cardiac, antihypertensive, and other critical-care infusions according to orders and protocols
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and promptly recognize and respond to life-threatening dysrhythmias
- Perform medication administration, IV therapy, specimen collection, patient education, and accurate documentation in EPIC
- Collaborate with emergency physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, radiology staff, technicians, and other members of the care team
- Operate and troubleshoot emergency monitoring and respiratory support equipment within the scope of practice
- Maintain a calm, compassionate, and patient-centered approach in a high-volume emergency department
