- Schedule: Rotating call coverage with approximately 40 hours per week indicated for the assignment
- Call Schedule: Rotating call weeks may include Monday-to-Monday coverage from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; other weeks include scheduled shifts with the opportunity to pick up additional call
- Healthcare Setting: On-site hospital cardiac catheterization laboratory
Travel Cath Lab RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin or a valid compact RN license
- At least 1 year of recent Cath Lab, cardiac catheterization, interventional cardiology, or closely related procedural nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Ability to participate in a rotating call schedule
- Strong patient assessment, critical-thinking, clinical judgment, and emergency response skills
- Ability to provide safe nursing care in a high-acuity cardiovascular services environment
- Must meet travel assignment eligibility requirements; candidates residing within 50 miles may not qualify
Cath Lab Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients before, during, and after cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology procedures
- Prepare patients, equipment, medications, and procedural areas for scheduled and emergent Cath Lab cases
- Monitor patients closely throughout procedures and recognize changes in clinical condition
- Administer medications and support sedation, vascular access, and other procedural needs within scope of practice
- Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, technologists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote safe, efficient patient care
- Respond to urgent cardiac and procedural situations during scheduled shifts and rotating call coverage
- Complete accurate clinical documentation and provide thorough handoff communication
