Travel Nursing Job Details

- Assignment Type: 13-week travel RN contract
- Start Date: November 30, 2026
- End Date: March 1, 2027
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940–$2,040
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shifts per Week: 3
- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts
- Shift Schedule: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
- Patient Population: Adolescents and adults
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Float: Required to other units as needed
Progressive Care RN Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent progressive care, stepdown, intermediate care, PCU, or comparable acute-care RN experience
- Valid Ohio RN license or compact RN license in hand at the time of submission
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Experience caring for orthopedic, total joint replacement, neurospine, or orthopedic spine surgery patients preferred
- Ability to manage a mixed-acuity patient assignment and float to other units when needed
- Two professional references, including at least one manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader
- Flu vaccination required; medical exemptions may be considered
- Willingness to complete required credentialing and fingerprinting promptly after contract acceptance
PCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to progressive care and medical-surgical patients during 12-hour night shifts
- Monitor telemetry, assess patients for changes in condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Care for patients recovering from total hip and knee replacements, orthopedic spine surgery, and neurospine procedures
- Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, feeding tubes, surgical drains, tracheostomies, and wound vacs
- Administer blood products, insulin protocols, heparin protocols, and cardiac or vasoactive infusions according to clinical standards
- Perform or support IV starts, phlebotomy, oxygen administration, respiratory support, and isolation precautions
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and arterial blood gases while coordinating timely interventions
- Collaborate with therapy, respiratory, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response, social services, and other interdisciplinary teams
- Float to other assigned units as needed while maintaining safe, patient-centered care
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in the electronic medical record
