Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Nursing Contract – Jackson, TN

Join a high-acuity Neuro Intensive Care Unit as a travel Registered Nurse (RN) in Jackson, Tennessee. This 13-week night-shift assignment offers experienced ICU nurses the opportunity to provide critical care for adult and geriatric patients with complex neurological conditions in a collaborative 9-bed unit. Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910-$2,010
• Location: Jackson, Tennessee
• Contract: 13 weeks, October 26, 2026 through January 25, 2027
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Unit: 9-bed Neuro ICU with an average daily census of 8 patients
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 2 patients per nurse
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatric patients, including post-tPA, post-surgical, and stroke patients
• Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Three weekend shifts per 4-week schedule and holiday availability required
• Floating: Must be willing to float to other ICUs, Med/Surg/Telemetry, and Progressive Care units as needed

Neuro ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of acute-care nursing experience, including Med/Surg or Telemetry experience
• Neuro ICU, ICU, or critical care nursing experience strongly preferred
• Active Tennessee or compact Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Recent Epic experience within the past 18 months, clearly documented in the candidate profile
• Ability to complete and pass the required Epic competency assessment
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to care for patients requiring complex neurological and critical care interventions
• Previous charge nurse experience and community hospital experience preferred
• Willingness to meet required influenza and COVID-19 vaccination policies

Neuro ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to critically ill neurological patients
• Perform frequent neurological assessments and monitor patients with acute stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and post-neurosurgical needs
• Manage external ventricular drains, intracranial pressure monitoring, arterial lines, central lines, and other critical care equipment
• Care for ventilated patients and manage BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, suctioning, and airway support
• Administer and titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips, continuous IV sedation, IV insulin protocols, and other critical medications
• Interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases while responding promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer blood products, manage infection prevention measures, and maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rehabilitation, rapid response, and other interdisciplinary support services
• Float to designated critical care and progressive care units while maintaining high standards of patient care
