• Patient Ratio: Approximately 4:1, including three rooms and one hall bed during high-volume periods

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Missouri
• At least 1 year of recent registered nursing experience; Emergency Department or emergency room nursing experience is strongly preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
• Current Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification
• Current Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification
• Demonstrated adaptability, teamwork, and the ability to remain positive and effective in high-pressure emergency care situations
• Ability to meet the assignment’s dress requirements: gray scrub top with black or gray scrub bottoms

Emergency Department Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and efficient nursing care to Emergency Department patients across a range of acuity levels
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, prioritize care, and respond promptly to changing clinical conditions
• Initiate and manage intravenous access and perform phlebotomy according to clinical standards
• Perform cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation, escalating concerns appropriately
• Collaborate with charge nurses, team leads, advanced paramedics, emergency department technicians, medical staff, and support personnel
• Use emergency department equipment, including cardiac monitors, EKG machines, ultrasound, rapid infusers, intraosseous drills, and Lifepak devices
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in the Meditech system
• Maintain a calm, professional, and patient-focused approach in a high-volume emergency care environment
