Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570–$1,650
- Location: Hickory, North Carolina
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Nursing Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Minimum of every other weekend and holidays
- Patient Population: Adult Emergency Department patients
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 4:1
- Emergency Department Volume: Approximately 160 visits per day
- Electronic Medical Record: Meditech experience preferred, but not required
- Scheduling Flexibility: Opportunity to flex to a fourth 12-hour shift when needed and available

Emergency Room RN Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience required; 3 years preferred
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license meeting applicable state requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification preferred; completion may be available during an extended assignment
- First-time travel nurses may be considered with at least 3 years of ER nursing experience
- COVID-19 vaccination required; approved medical or religious exemptions may be considered according to applicable policy
Emergency Nursing Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate, and efficient emergency nursing care to adult patients
- Perform triage, focused assessments, ongoing reassessments, and prioritization of care
- Recognize and respond to acute changes in patient condition, including cerebrovascular accidents and cardiac dysrhythmias
- Interpret dysrhythmias and support the management of patients requiring cardiac monitoring and intervention
- Initiate and maintain peripheral IV access, perform phlebotomy, and administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Manage IV vasopressors and assist with blood product administration according to department protocols
- Apply appropriate isolation precautions and personal protective equipment practices
- Document patient care accurately in the Meditech electronic medical record
- Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary partners, including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and interpretation services
- Participate in scheduled night, weekend, and holiday coverage while maintaining a professional, team-oriented approach
