Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980–$2,080
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 30, 2026
- Nursing Schedule: Three 12-hour day shifts per week, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Healthcare Setting: High-acuity Medical ICU and Cardiac Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit within a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center environment
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:3 in Stepdown; ICU assignments may range from 1:1 to 1:2 based on patient acuity
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
- Floating: PCU, other ICUs, and an affiliated campus as needed
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic
- Call: Not required
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut or eligibility to obtain a Connecticut nursing license
- At least 2 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown, Progressive Care, PCU, or Medical ICU nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Experience caring for patients with acute respiratory failure, sepsis, renal or liver failure, post-cardiac arrest conditions, and gastrointestinal bleeding
- Proficiency in arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, continuous IV sedation, dysrhythmia management, and arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation
- Ability to work independently in a high-acuity critical care environment and adapt to floating requirements
- Willingness to meet applicable immunization and compliance requirements, including annual influenza vaccination
- One professional reference required
Travel RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care primarily to Cardiac Stepdown and Progressive Care patients with approximately 3:1 assignments
- Support Medical ICU coverage when needed, caring for patients with complex medical and multisystem conditions
- Assess, monitor, and manage patients experiencing respiratory failure, sepsis, organ failure, post-cardiac arrest complications, and other critical illnesses
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and ABGs, recognize changes in patient status, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
- Manage arterial lines, central lines, ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, and isolation precautions
- Collaborate with providers, respiratory therapists, patient care assistants, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Float to PCU, other ICU units, and the affiliated campus according to operational needs
- Accurately document patient care, assessments, interventions, and clinical outcomes in Epic
- Promote safe, compassionate, and evidence-based patient care throughout each travel nursing assignment
