Join a high-acuity Labor and Delivery team as a travel RN in Issaquah, Washington, supporting labor, delivery, antepartum care, and postpartum transitions.
This on-site travel nursing assignment is located in beautiful Issaquah, WA, a scenic community nestled near the Cascade foothills with convenient access to outdoor recreation, local dining, and the greater Seattle area. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse who enjoys working alongside a collaborative clinical team and providing safe, evidence-based maternal and newborn care.
Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,220–$2,340
- Assignment Length: 26 weeks; 13-week travel nursing contracts may also be considered
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- Schedule: Night shifts, 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
- Shifts: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
- Unit: Labor and Delivery
- Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, and infants
- Unit Features: 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms; approximately 200–300 births per month
- Float Expectations: May float to Postpartum based on skill set and may be asked to support a nearby sister facility
- Travel Experience: First-time travel nurses are welcome
Labor and Delivery RN Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse experience
- Current Registered Nurse license; an active compact license must be in hand at submission when applicable
- Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting experience required
- Current BLS, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and AWHONN Intermediate certifications
- ACLS certification preferred
- Proficiency with obstetric triage, high-risk antepartum care, labor management, fetal monitoring, and delivery support
- Ability to provide two professional references covering at least one year of recent experience
- Willingness to work required holidays and float according to unit needs
Labor and Delivery RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients experiencing labor, preterm labor, high-risk pregnancy, and postpartum transition
- Attend routine and high-risk deliveries and assist with the care of newborns during transition nursery and couplet-care periods
- Perform obstetric triage, sterile vaginal examinations, fetal monitoring, and use of intrauterine pressure catheters
- Circulate for Cesarean sections and support preoperative and postoperative gynecologic and obstetric care
- Administer blood and blood products, magnesium sulfate, insulin infusions, heparin, antihypertensives, and other medications safely
- Manage epidural, PCA, and syringe pumps while providing ongoing pain assessment and intervention
- Maintain central lines and provide wound assessment and care, including wound VAC management as needed
- Recognize changes in maternal or fetal condition and respond to urgent clinical situations, including cardioversion or defibrillation support
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, neonatal teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe, evidence-based outcomes
