Travel Nursing Job Details

- Location: Seattle, Washington 98122
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- Assignment Length: 26 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,220–$2,340
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Unit: High-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery
- Unit Profile: Approximately 15–17 patients per day, 31 beds, 4 operating rooms, and more than 500 births per month
- Scheduling: Schedules are posted approximately every six weeks; weekend and holiday coverage is required as needed
- Floating: May occasionally float to Antepartum, Postpartum, NICU for helping-hands support, or other nearby units or campuses based on competency and staffing needs

Travel Labor & Delivery RN Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- High-risk Labor & Delivery experience in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Active Washington Registered Nurse license or compact license in hand
- Current BLS certification
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Epic experience, including electronic fetal monitoring documentation
- Demonstrated ability to function as the delivery newborn nurse, providing care from delivery through transfer to postpartum
- Demonstrated ability to circulate for Cesarean sections
- Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and/or AWHONN Intermediate certification
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for high-risk antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, high-risk deliveries, and operative procedures
- Serve as the delivery newborn nurse, including newborn assessment, Apgar scoring, thermoregulation, identification and security banding, cord care, and administration of newborn eye care and vitamin K injections
- Circulate for Cesarean sections and support safe surgical workflows
- Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns using external fetal monitoring and electronic documentation systems
- Administer and monitor therapies including magnesium sulfate, insulin infusions, heparin, Pitocin, antihypertensives, and other medications according to orders and policy
- Recognize and respond to obstetric emergencies, including hemorrhage, shock, pregnancy-induced hypertension, and abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Provide patient education, breastfeeding support, pain assessment and management, and emotional support
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, and other members of the healthcare team
- Float to other appropriate units when needed and perform only duties consistent with demonstrated competency
