Join a specialized pediatric stepdown nursing team as a Travel Registered Nurse in Baltimore, Maryland. This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers experienced RNs the opportunity to care for pediatric and adolescent patients with complex cardiac, respiratory, neurological, orthopedic, and rehabilitation needs while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
- Location: Baltimore, Maryland
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel Registered Nurse contract
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- Nursing Shift: Three 12-hour rotating shifts per week, days and nights; approximately 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Patient Population: Pediatric and adolescent patients
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Holidays as scheduled
- Call: Not required
- Floating: May be required within the nurse’s scope of practice and to other departments as needed

Travel Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 2 years of recent professional nursing experience
- Recent pediatric stepdown, pediatric medical-surgical, pediatric rehabilitation, or comparable pediatric nursing experience
- Required experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Current Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification, or ability to complete an approved certification
- Demonstrated competency with pediatric medication administration, feeding support, NG tube management, suctioning, oxygen delivery systems, IV therapy, central or implanted line care, wound care, and infection prevention
- Ability to care for patients with complex neurological, respiratory, cardiac, orthopedic, and developmental conditions
- Comfort working in a collaborative, interdisciplinary pediatric healthcare environment
- Meditech experience is preferred
Pediatric Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to pediatric and adolescent patients in a mixed stepdown and rehabilitation setting.
- Assess, monitor, and document patient status, including respiratory and cardiac conditions.
- Provide tracheostomy care, ventilator management, suctioning, oxygen therapy, and other respiratory interventions within scope of practice.
- Manage patients with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, burns, wounds, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, failure to thrive, feeding disorders, and post-operative orthopedic needs.
- Administer medications and enteral feedings while maintaining accurate documentation and patient safety standards.
- Perform IV starts and provide ongoing peripheral, central, and implanted line care.
- Coordinate care with physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and other support departments.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, safety, daily care needs, and discharge preparation.
- Maintain infection prevention, isolation, patient safety, and quality care standards.
- Float within the nurse’s competency when needed and contribute to a supportive interdisciplinary team environment.
