Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,920–$2,020

- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts
- Shift Schedule: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.; 36 hours per week
- Unit: Adult Medical-Surgical Telemetry
- Unit Size: 29 beds
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:5
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend required
- Holidays: Required as scheduled
- Floating: Required within the Registered Nurse’s scope of practice, including other appropriate units or nearby locations
- On-Call: Not required
- Scrub Color: Navy blue
Travel RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or a valid Compact RN license
- At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience with required Med/Surg Telemetry experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- ACLS and CPI certification in accordance with assignment compliance requirements
- Strong cardiac monitoring and telemetry nursing experience
- Adult acute-care experience preferred
- Epic electronic medical record charting experience preferred
- Ability to work night shifts, every other weekend, scheduled holidays, and float within scope of practice
- First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
- Flu vaccination is required
Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult patients on a 29-bed Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using bedside and remote telemetry systems
- Assess patients, develop and implement individualized nursing care plans, and evaluate outcomes
- Care for patients with conditions including sepsis, urinary tract infections, acute kidney injury, pneumonia, cholecystitis, and congestive heart failure
- Manage IV therapy, peripheral and central lines, PICC lines, blood products, oxygen therapy, and non-invasive airway support
- Administer medications, including insulin, heparin, patient-controlled analgesia, and cardiac medications, as ordered
- Provide care for chest tubes, surgical drains, feeding tubes, ostomies, tracheostomies, and wound vacs as applicable
- Recognize changes in patient condition and collaborate with rapid response and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and support services to promote quality patient outcomes
