• On-Call: 1–2 shifts per schedule
• Floating: May assist Mother Baby as needed and serve as a resource across women’s services

Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Texas
• At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Demonstrated experience with labor management and obstetric nursing care
• Competency in circulating cesarean sections
• Experience with vaginal deliveries, cesarean deliveries, and obstetric triage
• Ability to support patients receiving Pitocin and iron infusions
• Proficiency with fetal monitoring and electronic medical records
• Strong communication skills, a team-oriented attitude, and a commitment to compassionate maternal-child healthcare

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients within the Labor & Delivery setting
• Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Manage labor patients, including those receiving Pitocin, while following evidence-based standards and unit guidelines
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean deliveries, recovery, and obstetric triage
• Circulate cesarean sections and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary obstetric team
• Perform patient assessments, administer medications and treatments, and accurately document care in the electronic medical record
• Provide patient education, reassurance, and emotional support to patients and their families throughout the birthing experience
• Collaborate with nurses, providers, obstetric technicians, and support staff to promote excellent maternal and newborn outcomes
• Maintain flexibility to support Mother Baby services and women’s services when needed
