Join a collaborative inpatient healthcare team as a Med/Surg Travel Registered Nurse in Janesville, Wisconsin. This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers compassionate, evidence-based care across medical-surgical, orthopedic, and neurological units on a consistent 12-hour night shift.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Assignment Dates: October 2, 2026–January 1, 2027
• Nursing Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 6:30 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend and Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and holidays
• Call: No call requirement
• Healthcare Setting: On-site inpatient hospital environment

Med-Surg Registered Nurse Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse (RN) experience in a medical-surgical setting
• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Wisconsin
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or competency
• Education verification
• Ability to float between medical-surgical, surgical/pediatric, orthopedic/neurological, and sub-acute inpatient units
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and patient-safety skills

Med-Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients across medical-surgical, orthopedic, neurological, and sub-acute units.
• Use the nursing process to assess patients, develop individualized care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders, nursing standards, hospital policies, and applicable regulations.
• Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes in status, and escalate concerns through the appropriate chain of command.
• Collaborate with physicians, ancillary professionals, patients, and families to support coordinated inpatient care.
• Provide patient and family education related to diagnoses, treatments, medications, recovery, and discharge needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation according to standards of care.
• Participate in unit performance improvement activities and support a positive patient experience.
