Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Job Details

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470–$2,600
- Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
- Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week; 72-hour guarantee every two weeks
- Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and every other holiday
- Assignment Setting: Float Pool coverage across Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units
- Typical Ratios: Medical-Surgical 5:1 on day/evening shifts and 6:1 overnight; Telemetry 4:1 on day/evening shifts and 5:1 overnight
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
- At least 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing experience
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Strong assessment, prioritization, medication administration, and care coordination skills
- Ability to adapt quickly while supporting both Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patient populations
- Willingness to work rotating day and night shifts, alternating weekends, and alternating holidays
Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult patients in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, laboratory results, and changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established standards and orders
- Complete comprehensive assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
- Recognize and promptly communicate clinical changes to the appropriate members of the care team
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Float between Medical-Surgical and Telemetry assignments as needed while maintaining quality and continuity of care
