Join an experienced hospital nursing team as a Medical-Surgical Float Pool Registered Nurse supporting ED Holds and multiple inpatient units across two affiliated campuses in Trenton, New Jersey. This on-site night shift RN opportunity is ideal for a confident nurse with recent Medical-Surgical and Telemetry experience who enjoys variety, collaborative patient care, and making an impact wherever coverage is needed. Trenton offers a historic, centrally located setting with access to cultural attractions, riverfront recreation, and convenient connections throughout New Jersey and the greater Philadelphia region.

- Setting: On-site hospital environment
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts; 36 hours per week
- Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Start Date: November 10, 2026
- Duration: 12-week nursing assignment
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
- Floating: Float between affiliated campuses and support Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units or ED Holds as needed
- Scrubs: Navy blue
- Electronic Medical Record: Cerner
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience
- Active New Jersey or Compact Registered Nurse license at the time of submission
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications
- Flu vaccination required; declinations are not accepted
- Ability to work night shifts, every other weekend, and every other holiday
- Strong adaptability and willingness to float among assigned units and affiliated campuses
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
Medical-Surgical RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult patients in Medical-Surgical units and ED Holds
- Float to assigned units and locations based on patient volume and staffing needs
- Assess patients, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate outcomes
- Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate treatment and discharge planning
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in Cerner
- Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and adherence to hospital policies
- Maintain reliable attendance and communicate promptly regarding any scheduling concerns; missed scheduled shifts may require make-up coverage within the same week when operationally feasible
