Med/Surg Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Ohio
- At least 1 year of bedside clinical nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
- Current BLS certification required before the first shift
- Current ACLS certification required before the first shift for this assignment
- Demonstrated ability to provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care
- Strong communication, organization, prioritization, and clinical decision-making skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, nursing staff, providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members
Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive nursing assessments within the required timeframe and develop individualized plans of care.
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Support patients in achieving rehabilitation goals through encouragement, education, and consistent clinical care.
- Monitor patient progress, recognize changes in condition, and communicate pertinent information promptly to providers and nursing leadership.
- Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care updates accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and contribute to ongoing evaluations of patient progress.
- Initiate discharge planning at admission and provide patient and family education to support a safe transition home or to the next level of care.
- Delegate appropriately and provide direction, training, and supervision to nursing support personnel.
- Promote patient, staff, and environmental safety by following established policies, safe-handling practices, infection-prevention standards, and hazard-reporting procedures.
- Prioritize care effectively, manage time and resources responsibly, and contribute to a positive, team-oriented unit environment.
- Assume charge responsibilities after orientation when requested and pursue ongoing professional development.
