Emergency Department RN Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Maine
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, preferably in an emergency department or acute care setting
• Strong patient assessment, communication, computer, and clinical documentation skills
• Ability to function independently in a fast-paced emergency nursing environment
• Ability to respond rapidly and efficiently during emergency situations
• Commitment to patient confidentiality, safety, and high-quality care

Emergency Room RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to emergency department patients and their families
• Perform focused and comprehensive patient assessments and promptly identify changes in condition
• Prioritize care and respond efficiently to urgent and emergent patient needs
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with orders, policies, and standards of practice
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to support timely patient care
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment, follow-up care, and safety instructions
• Support a patient- and family-centered care environment while upholding professional nursing standards
