Emergency Department Travel Nursing Job Details

- Healthcare Setting: 92-bed Emergency Department
- Staffing Ratio: 1:4 RN-to-patient ratio
- Unit: Emergency Department
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, generally three 12-hour shifts
- Weekend Requirement: Six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
- Charting System: EPIC
- Work Setting: On-site
Travel RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license accepted
- At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department or ER nursing experience
- Strong Level I trauma nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association
- TNCC certification
- Telemetry and intravenous drip experience
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record documentation
- ESI triage training preferred
- CPI Blue certification; may be obtained on site
- Ability to work the required day-shift and weekend schedule
Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, timely, and compassionate nursing care to patients in a fast-paced Emergency Department
- Perform focused nursing assessments, initiate emergency interventions, and continuously monitor patient status
- Care for patients with acute stroke, seizures, congestive heart failure, sepsis, acute myocardial infarction, trauma, and diabetes-related emergencies
- Manage telemetry patients and administer and monitor intravenous medications and drips
- Support the evaluation and stabilization of patients involved in motor vehicle collisions, falls, and penetrating trauma incidents
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and ancillary staff to coordinate emergency patient care
- Document assessments, interventions, reassessments, and outcomes accurately in EPIC
- Prioritize care effectively while maintaining patient safety, infection prevention, and emergency nursing standards
