Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Virginia
  • At least 1 year of recent cardiac stepdown, progressive care, PCU, or comparable acute-care nursing experience
  • Strong patient assessment, clinical judgment, cardiac monitoring, and patient-monitoring skills
  • Ability to provide safe, compassionate nursing care in a fast-paced cardiac procedural and surgical environment
  • Successful completion of required facility onboarding and clinical compliance requirements

Cardiac Stepdown Travel Nurse Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive Registered Nurse care to patients in a cardiac stepdown and progressive care setting
  • Monitor cardiac status, vital signs, symptoms, and changes in patient condition
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders and established nursing standards
  • Recognize and promptly escalate clinical changes or concerns to the appropriate care team
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary professionals to coordinate individualized care plans
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatments, recovery, medications, and discharge needs
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support a safe, quality-focused patient-care environment
