Join a collaborative medical-surgical telemetry team as a Registered Nurse in Clinton, Maryland. This on-site travel RN opportunity offers the chance to care for a diverse adult patient population, strengthen telemetry expertise, and support patients recovering from orthopedic, spine, abdominal, urologic, and general medical procedures. Located in the welcoming Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, Clinton provides a comfortable suburban setting with convenient access to the region’s cultural attractions, parks, dining, and major transportation routes.
Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,710–$1,800
- Contract: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- End Date: February 1, 2027
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
- Shift Options: Days, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., or nights, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.; nurses will not rotate between days and nights within the same week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:6
- Unit Profile: Medical-surgical telemetry unit with approximately 13 beds and an average daily census of 12 patients
- Additional Details: Floating is required; ceil-blue scrubs are required and are not provided
Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in Maryland or a valid compact-state RN license at the time of submission
- At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience
- At least 1 completed travel nursing assignment
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Successful completion of the EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms
- Experience caring for approximately six patients per nurse
- Ability to work every other weekend and float as needed
- Flu vaccination required; exemptions are not available for this assignment
- Two supervisory references, including one from the most recent assignment, must be available
- Previous charge nurse experience and Cerner documentation experience are preferred
Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret dysrhythmias, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition and participate in emergency response activities
- Care for patients recovering from total joint replacements, orthopedic trauma, spine surgery, abdominal surgeries, urologic procedures, and general medical conditions
- Perform medication administration, patient assessments, care planning, and patient education
- Manage IV access, central lines, PICC lines, feeding tubes, blood products, and heparin protocols according to applicable standards
- Collaborate with physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and other members of the care team
- Accurately document patient care using electronic medical records, with Cerner experience preferred
- Maintain a safe, organized environment while delivering compassionate, evidence-based care
