Join an onsite surgical team as a Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) in Dallas, Texas. This 13-week nursing contract offers a consistent block schedule of three 12-hour night shifts each week in a 20-room operating room supporting adult and geriatric patients, including trauma cases. Dallas is a dynamic metropolitan area with diverse neighborhoods, convenient amenities, and a vibrant cultural and dining scene.

- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse contract
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- End Date: February 1, 2027
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680–$1,770
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour nights
- Shift Hours: 6:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
- Regular Shifts: Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Call: No call required
- Operating Room Environment: 20-room surgical department with trauma case experience
Operating Room Registered Nurse Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Texas
- At least 1 year of operating room nursing or perioperative nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Epic electronic health record charting experience required
- Experience caring for adult and geriatric patient populations
- Previous trauma, community hospital, or Level I/Level II trauma experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Ability to support an approximately 1:1 patient ratio
- Flexibility to float as needed, with weekend and holiday coverage required
- Strong knowledge of surgical safety, infection control, specimen handling, and universal protocol
Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care throughout the perioperative process
- Prepare operating rooms, patients, equipment, and supplies for scheduled and emergent procedures
- Support general, orthopedic, spine, urologic, vascular, trauma, and laparoscopic procedures
- Assist with procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, colon resection, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, spinal fusion, thyroidectomy, total joint replacement, and fracture repair
- Administer and manage blood and blood products according to established protocols
- Perform accurate specimen handling and labeling
- Maintain compliance with fire, laser, radiation, and infection-control safety practices
- Participate in surgical time-outs and maintain adherence to universal protocol
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary support teams
- Document patient care accurately in Epic and promote a safe, efficient surgical environment
