Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Tacoma, WA
- Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse assignment
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- Assignment End Date: February 6, 2027
- Duration: Approximately 14 weeks
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts
- Healthcare Setting: Pediatric Emergency Department with approximately 35 beds
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:3 for standard acuity and 1:6 for lower acuity
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic
Pediatric Emergency Nurse Job Requirements
- At least 1.5 years of recent pediatric emergency department or pediatric ER nursing experience
- At least 6 months of triage and trauma nursing experience
- Demonstrated ability to provide general pediatric emergency care
- Experience caring for patients with mental health concerns and traumatic injuries
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Washington
- Current TNCC, PALS, and BLS certifications
- Current CPI or MOAB certification
- Strong communication, clinical assessment, prioritization, and teamwork skills
- First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
Travel RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and comprehensive nursing care to pediatric emergency patients
- Perform rapid nursing assessments, triage, reassessments, and ongoing monitoring based on patient acuity
- Care for children experiencing medical emergencies, trauma, behavioral health concerns, and other urgent conditions
- Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly escalate concerns to the appropriate healthcare team
- Administer medications and treatments, initiate nursing interventions, and evaluate patient responses
- Collaborate with providers, technicians, support staff, patients, and families to coordinate pediatric emergency care
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in Epic
- Support patient and family education throughout the emergency care experience
- Maintain a calm, organized, and patient-centered environment during high-volume or high-acuity situations
