Bring your neuro, medical-surgical, and telemetry nursing expertise to a 14-week travel nurse assignment in Baltimore, Maryland. Care for adult and geriatric patients on a 36-bed Neuro Med-Surg/Telemetry unit supporting a broad range of neurological and medical-surgical diagnoses. Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,850–$1,950
- Location: Baltimore, Maryland 21215
- Assignment Type: 14-week travel nursing contract
- Start Date: November 9, 2026
- End Date: February 15, 2027
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:5
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
- Clinical Setting: 36-bed Neuro Med-Surg/Telemetry unit with continuous bedside EEG monitoring and telemetry
- Weekend and Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
- Floating: May float within scope to Med-Surg and Med-Surg/Telemetry units
- Electronic Medical Record: Cerner
- Scrub Color: Navy blue
Travel Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent Med-Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse experience
- Recent experience with neurology, acute stroke/CVA care, and pre- and post-neurosurgical patients
- Experience caring for patients with spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries
- Experience with feeding tubes, pre- and post-hemodialysis care, renal failure, surgical drains, wound care or wound VACs, oxygen administration, and isolation/PPE precautions
- Current Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse license at the time of submission
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Maryland-approved trauma education, including the required 16-hour trauma certification by the applicable deadline
- Completion of the required Basic EKG assessment before orientation
- Completion of annual stroke and trauma-related continuing education requirements
- Strong telemetry nursing skills, including rhythm interpretation, dysrhythmia management, and remote or bedside monitoring
- First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
- Preferred: TCRN certification, Level I or II trauma experience, teaching hospital experience, prior charge nurse experience, and Cerner experience
Med-Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with neurological, medical-surgical, and telemetry needs
- Perform comprehensive neurological assessments and monitor patients with CVA, ischemic stroke, epilepsy, seizures, radiculopathy, cervical stenosis, rhabdomyolysis, and alcohol withdrawal
- Care for patients before and after laminectomy, ACDF, craniotomy, and other neurosurgical procedures
- Monitor telemetry and recognize and respond appropriately to dysrhythmias and clinical deterioration
- Manage continuous bedside EEG monitoring and perform bladder scans as indicated
- Provide nursing care involving IVs, PICC lines, central lines, ports, blood products, feeding tubes, chest tubes, surgical drains, wound VACs, oxygen equipment, and PCA therapy
- Support pre- and post-hemodialysis care for patients with renal failure
- Follow medication, heparin, isolation, and PPE protocols within scope of practice
- Collaborate with physicians, therapy services, respiratory care, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
- Float to comparable units when needed while maintaining safe, evidence-based care within scope
