Join a collaborative acute-care team as a Travel Telemetry Registered Nurse in Martinsburg, West Virginia. This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers the opportunity to care for diverse adult telemetry patients in a 20-bed unit with private rooms, supportive clinical resources, and a strong focus on quality patient care. Martinsburg is located in the scenic Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, offering convenient access to historic communities, the Blue Ridge Mountains, and a variety of outdoor recreation.
Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000–$2,100
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 3, 2026
- Shift: Night shift, 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
- Shift Duration: 12 hours
- Shifts per Week: 3
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Schedule: Every other weekend with rotating holidays
- Patient Population: Telemetry, post-catheterization, medical-surgical, and patients requiring respiratory monitoring
- Charting System: EPIC
- On-Call: No on-call requirement
Telemetry Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 5 years of RN experience
- At least 1 year of travel nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Current NIHSS certification
- Strong telemetry nursing knowledge, including recognition of basic dysrhythmias and verification of telemetry strip interpretation
- Ability to provide a valid driver's license during the credentialing process
- EPIC experience preferred
- Comfort working with a typical telemetry nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:5
Travel Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult telemetry patients in an acute-care setting.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, identify changes in patient condition, and promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate clinical team.
- Care for patients following cardiac catheterization, as well as medical-surgical patients requiring telemetry monitoring or respiratory support.
- Administer medications and therapies, including titratable heparin when indicated and ordered.
- Perform patient assessments, medication administration, clinical documentation, patient education, and care coordination using EPIC.
- Initiate peripheral IVs and obtain laboratory specimens from central lines when ordered and within scope of practice.
- Collaborate with hospitalists, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, patient care technicians, and monitor technicians to support safe, efficient patient care.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, transfers, blood glucose monitoring, mobility, activities of daily living, and other unit-based patient care needs.
- Float to comparable or lower-acuity units, such as telemetry or medical-surgical areas, when operationally necessary.
- Participate in orientation, unit education, and team initiatives while maintaining professional standards of care.
