Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Job in Americus, GA – 13-Week Night Contract

Join a 36-bed acute care hospital as a Med-Surg Travel Registered Nurse in Americus, Georgia, and provide high-quality care during a 13-week medical-surgical nursing assignment. This opportunity offers 12-hour night shifts, 24/7 hospitalist coverage, nurse aide and respiratory therapy support, and a collaborative hospital team. Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890
• Location: Americus, Georgia
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: October 3, 2026
• End Date: January 2, 2027
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Shift Schedule: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Holidays required
• Patient Population: CHF, COPD, ESRD, pneumonia, renal failure, sickle cell crisis, orthopedic and bariatric surgery, altered mental status, and sepsis
• Typical Ratios: RN/LPN 6:1 and CNA 12:1
• Charting System: Meditech
• Orientation: Three floor-specific shifts
• Dress Code: White tops and hunter green pants

Med-Surg Travel Nurse Requirements

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for submission
• At least 1 year of recent hospital medical-surgical nursing experience
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Current NIHSS certification
• ACLS certification preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, and required holidays
• Ability to meet the assignment’s 75-mile residency requirement based on the address listed on the driver’s license
• Flexibility to float occasionally as needed

Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to acute medical-surgical patients throughout hospitalization
• Assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate clinical progress
• Care for patients with complex medical conditions, including cardiac, pulmonary, renal, infectious, neurological, and postoperative diagnoses
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions
• Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate provider
• Collaborate with hospitalists, nursing assistants, respiratory therapy, the PICC team, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Complete accurate documentation in the Meditech electronic medical record
• Provide patient and family education related to treatment plans, medications, safety, and discharge needs
• Support safe transitions of care and maintain compliance with hospital policies and clinical standards
