Join a fast-paced adult cardiac and stroke unit as a Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse in Salisbury, North Carolina. This 13-week travel nursing contract is ideal for an RN experienced in acute-care cardiac telemetry, cardiac drips, dysrhythmia interpretation, and pre- and post-procedure care. Registered Nurse Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,770–$1,860
- Location: Salisbury, North Carolina

- Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks, with potential for longer assignments

- Typical Assignment: 5–6 patients
- Orientation: 36 hours; availability during the first week is required
- Scheduling: Weekend coverage is required, with schedules that may include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday assignments

Cardiac Telemetry RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or a compact state
- At least 2 years of recent acute-care nursing experience, including cardiac telemetry experience
- Experience caring for patients with cardiac and stroke diagnoses in a high-acuity, fast-paced hospital environment
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Current NIHSS certification or competency
- Proficiency with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and cardiac drip management
- Experience with pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care, pacemakers, implanted defibrillators, and TR bands
- Ability to care for patients receiving high-flow oxygen, noninvasive airway support, and other advanced respiratory therapies as appropriate
- PCU, stepdown, progressive care, or equivalent acute-care nursing experience is preferred
- Ability to successfully complete an EKG assessment before the start of the assignment
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and communication skills, with a willingness to float according to unit needs
Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult cardiac, stroke, and procedural patients in a cardiac telemetry setting
- Continuously monitor telemetry and pulse oximetry, recognize dysrhythmias, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Manage and titrate cardiac medications and drips, including Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone, within scope and unit protocols
- Deliver pre- and post-procedure care for cardiac catheterization, pacemaker and implanted defibrillator procedures, and peripheral vascular interventions
- Care for patients with myocardial infarction, heart failure, unstable angina, chest pain, dysrhythmias, CVA, and TIA
- Perform comprehensive assessments, administer medications, manage peripheral and central lines, and document care accurately in Epic
- Support patients requiring high-flow oxygen, stable non-rebreather use, or chronic BiPAP according to clinical guidelines
- Coordinate admissions, discharges, transfers, and changes in level of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Maintain safe patient ratios while adapting to a high-volume unit with frequent admissions, discharges, and assignment turnover
- Communicate effectively with providers, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rehabilitation services, rapid response teams, and other members of the care team
