Med/Surg Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Contract in Lawton, Oklahoma

Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890
• Specialty: Adult Medical-Surgical Nursing

• Healthcare Setting: 14-bed adult medical-surgical unit
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Start Date: October 22, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks, through January 21, 2027
• Schedule Expectations: Six weekend shifts during each six-week schedule period, with a fair share of holidays
• Float Requirement: Willingness to float to other medical-surgical units as needed

Medical-Surgical Travel Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
• Strong clinical assessment, organization, and prioritization skills
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate care in a fast-paced inpatient environment
• Willingness to work required weekend and holiday rotations
• Ability to float to other medical-surgical units when needed
• Compliance with applicable health screening, credentialing, and facility orientation requirements

Medical-Surgical RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients
• Complete nursing assessments, administer medications, and monitor patient responses to treatment
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support positive patient outcomes
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly using sound clinical judgment
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
• Accurately document nursing care and communicate relevant clinical information during handoffs
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and patient-centered care environment
