Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Florida
- At least 2 years of bedside clinical nursing experience
- Previous medical-surgical nursing or inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required before the first shift
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required before the first shift
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
- Ability to work night shifts and collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team
Med/Surg Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive nursing assessments within the required timeframe and develop individualized plans of care.
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Monitor patient progress, identify changes in condition, and promptly communicate pertinent information to providers and nursing leadership.
- Participate in inpatient rehabilitation programming and support patients in achieving functional and recovery goals.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, treatments, safety, and discharge needs.
- Initiate discharge planning from admission and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team.
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care coordination in the medical record.
- Delegate appropriately and provide direction, training, and supervision to nursing support staff.
- Promote patient, staff, and environmental safety while following clinical policies and procedures.
- Prioritize care, manage time effectively, support team collaboration, and assume charge nurse responsibilities following orientation as assigned.
