Cardiac Cath Lab RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Virginia
- At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, preferably in a cardiac catheterization laboratory or comparable procedural setting
- Experience caring for patients before, during, and after invasive cardiac procedures
- Strong patient assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work 10-hour day shifts and support the needs of a fast-paced procedural department
Cardiac Cath Lab RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive cardiovascular nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and related procedures
- Complete pre-procedure assessments, verify clinical readiness, and prepare patients for cardiac interventions
- Monitor patients closely during procedures and recognize changes in condition promptly
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols and provider orders
- Deliver post-procedure care, including recovery monitoring, patient education, and discharge preparation
- Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, procedural staff, and interdisciplinary team members to promote safe, efficient patient care
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold department standards for quality and patient safety
